Faculty of Accountancy Signs MoU with the Institute of Internal Auditors – IIA Somalia

The Faculty of Accountancy has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Internal Auditors – IIA Somalia, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of the internal auditing profession in Somalia.

This strategic partnership is designed to strengthen education, training, and research in the field of internal auditing, with the shared goal of promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance across sectors. By working together, both parties aim to enhance the capacity and competence of current and future professionals in accounting and auditing.

This partnership is a vital step toward building a more professional and ethical auditing environment in Somalia,” said the Dean of the Faculty of Accountancy. “Through collaboration with IIA Somalia, we are committed to delivering meaningful impact across institutions.

The agreement outlines initiatives such as:

  • Professional development and training programs
  • Certification support and awareness
  • Guest lectures and seminars by industry experts
  • Joint research initiatives
  • Curriculum enhancement in internal auditing and governance

In addition to educational benefits, the partnership will also help raise public and institutional awareness of the critical role of internal auditing in ensuring effective oversight and responsible financial management.
